Friday, May 5th, Bay Ridge Prep hosted its 25th annual fundraiser, The Tiger Trot! The Tiger Trot is not only a fundraiser for the school, but it is also an event that brings the whole Bay Ridge Prep community together. Some students are running it to win, and others run or walk just for fun. The event itself is not the only thing that students and faculty can participate in. Leading up to the Tiger Trot, students vote on their preferred T-shirt color, this year’s most voted pick was “Carolina blue”, also students in grades 9th through 12th have the opportunity to submit a drawing of their own to be on the front of the t-shirt.
This year’s winner was Samara Gellizeau in the 11th grade; Congratulations, Samara!
After the run, everyone gathers in the park for the award ceremony. Everyone who ran in this year’s Trot did a great job. Some of the Upper School’s fastest runners are highlighted below:
9th & 10th Grade Winners:
1st: Selina Psarras and Wyatt Powers
2nd: Shila Jenkins and Aidan Maguire
3rd: Chandra Kwyrwood and William Kellum
11th & 12th Grade Winners:
1st: Phoenix Ward and Matthew Betro
2nd: Arianne Nesbitt and Andrew Betro
3rd: Samantha Debrusk and Owen Gallagher
Faculty: 1st for the female faculty: Ms. Brie
1st for the male faculty: Mr. Petri
